ABOUT
In today’s digital age, young people are increasingly influenced by the internet, social media, and digital trends, shaping their eating habits and perceptions of nutrition. The rise of misleading food information, unrealistic body standards, and harmful online challenges has contributed to unhealthy dietary behaviours, disordered eating, and misinformation about nutrition.
Recognising this growing issue, the DISH project (Digital Impact on Sustainable Health) was created to investigate the impact of ICTs on young people's nutrition and to develop educational resources that empower youth workers, educators, and organisations. Through research, learning activities, and interactive tools, DISH provides practical solutions to combat misinformation, prevent unhealthy eating behaviours, and promote a healthier relationship with food in the digital world.
The project is funded by Erasmus+ (KA220-YOU - 2023-2-PT02-KA220-YOU-000179392) and coordinated by Form2you (Portugal), in partnership with Go&Glow (Spain) and Socialiniai (Lithuania). Together, we are committed to creating accessible learning resources, fostering awareness, and supporting professionals in guiding young people toward healthier nutrition and digital habits.

Project Goals & Expected Impact
The DISH project (Discovering Important Strategies for nutritional Health) addresses the growing influence of ICTs on young people’s nutrition and eating behaviours. The widespread presence of digital misinformation, social media trends, and the normalisation of unhealthy eating habits has made it essential to equip youth workers, educators, and organisations with effective tools to promote informed and healthy nutritional choices.

DISH is committed to developing practical, research-based educational resources that foster awareness, prevention, and structured intervention strategies to support professionals working with young people.

Expected Impact
By the end of the project, DISH will deliver a fully developed, research-backed, and accessible learning platform, empowering youth workers, educators, and organisations with the necessary tools to recognise, prevent, and address digital-related nutrition challenges. The platform’s impact will include:
Raising awareness of the connection between digital content, misinformation, and unhealthy eating habits, equipping professionals with strategies to support young people.
Strengthening the ability of youth workers and educators to detect, prevent, and respond to eating disorders influenced by ICTs, improving their intervention skills.
Encouraging healthier eating habits among young people, by offering engaging, interactive, and evidence-based educational materials.
Promoting the use of innovative pedagogical approaches, such as gamification, experiential learning, and self-directed learning, to enhance youth engagement in nutritional education.
Fostering collaboration between educators, youth workers, and European organisations, ensuring cross-sector knowledge transfer and exchange of best practices.
Ensuring long-term accessibility and sustainability, by making the DISH Platform freely available in multiple languages, allowing professionals across Europe and beyond to use and adapt its resources.
Through the combination of structured learning tools, awareness campaigns, and a strong European network, the DISH project will contribute to a digitally aware and health-conscious generation, ensuring that young people gain the skills to navigate online nutritional information responsibly and make informed dietary choices.
